The Putney Society has campaigned about the poor Aiir Quality in Putney & Roehampton for over 11 years.
In 2021, as part of their commitment to the decalred Climate Change Emergency, Wandsworth Borough Council have produced a new Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) that builds upon previous work and recognises the importance of clean air in the borough. The AQAP outlines key areas of policy, the need for an action plan, the levels and sources of pollution in the borough and more importantly proposes a number of measures that the Council can take as a local authority to tackle poor air quality.
The Council have requested comments on the AQAP from resident groups, among others, and the Air Qualiy Committee of the Putney Society has just submitted a full response to the Plan.
