Meeting on Monday 24th January - "Planting for Bees, Butterflies and other Insects" - 7:30pm in the Community Church and also available online

Event Date: Jan 24, 2022

Our meeting on Monday 24 January at 7.30pm will focus on work being done to encourage bees, butterflies and other insect life in London – including ways in which we can assist by choosing appropriate planting.

Ele Johnstone from Butterfly Conservation will talk about the Big City Butterflies project, which is designed to inspire Londoners to discover butterflies and moths, and connect them with nature and their local green spaces. The project extends across the inner London Boroughs and will last for four years.

Fran Batt, the Nature Conservation Officer for Habitats and Heritage will focus on Urban Greening projects. She is working with residents, councils, businesses and community groups to create thriving habitats in small currently underutilised spaces. From roadside verges, to areas outside of houses, community centres, offices and schools; all of these spaces can have a positive impact on insect life.

This will be a hybrid meeting
