Look out for details about the upcoming work at Waterloo https://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/wswupgrade

Between 5 and 28 August inclusive, major work will be going on at Waterloo which will entail the closure of platforms 1-10. While Putney services use the other side of Waterloo we will still be affected.

Southwest Trains say Putney station is likely to be “significantly busier”, especially at peak times, and there is a possibility that a queuing system may be necessary.

Some journeys into and out of Waterloo may take longer and the advice is to avoid changing at Clapham Junction and Vauxhall which will be very crowded.

One measure to alleviate the congestion at Waterloo is a temporary re-opening of the old Eurostar platforms. They will re-open permanently from December 2018.

TfL have also warned that on the District Line trains at East Putney and Putney Bridge will be much busier as more passengers will begin their journeys there.
