Proposed Levellers Court Development Plans rejected by Wandsworth Council Planning Committee

Posted on Feb 01, 2018

The latest planning application for the Levellers Court development was presented to the Wandsworth Borough Council Planning Committee on Thursday 25th January and, despite a recommendation for approval from the Planning Department, Councillors rejected the plans.

Councillors were concerned that the L-shaped development, with a frontage on both Putney High Street and Putney Bridge Road, would reduce retail/business space and include a 10 storey building without adequate benefits for the community.

Councillors also expressed frustration that a scheme comprising the Levellers site and the adjoining "corner" site could not be developed as the two sets of developers had been unable to reach agreement for joint development of this key location in Putney.
